Tour III Art Around Town
Slavery is a part of our history. To better relate to pre-Civil War times when millions were enslaved, we take a look at those valiant individuals who fought to be free. Harriet Tubman, a slave herself, guided hundreds to freedom and a local Quaker lawyer, Thomas Garrett, worked with Tubman in assuring safe passage for many. Torment, success and failure were excruciating elements felt in the lives of those brave 19th century abolitionists.
